FAQs
Many Toyota owners are concerned and have questions about the recall.  Balise Toyota is here to listen and to provide the facts you need:

What should I do if my car is on the accelerator pedal recall list?
Contact Balise Toyota of Warwick at 401-781-4377 or Balise Toyota in West Springfield at 413-731-8500 to schedule an appointment.

What should I do if my car is on the floor mat recall list?
If your car is on the floor mat list, take out any removable driver’s floor mat and do not replace it with another floor mat. Contact Balise Toyota of Warwick at 401-781-4377 or Balise Toyota in West Springfield at 413-731-8500 to schedule an appointment.

What if my car is on the accelerator pedal recall list?  Should I stop driving my car?
Instances of sticking pedals are rare and generally do not occur suddenly. From Toyota: “In rare instances, accelerator pedals can, over time, become slow to release or get stuck.” “If you experience any issues with your accelerator pedal, please contact your dealer without delay. If you are not experiencing any issues with your pedal, we are confident your vehicle is safe to drive.”

How do I know if my car is experiencing the accelerator pedal problem?
From the NHTSA: “Owners should pay attention to the operation of the accelerator pedals. If the accelerator is harder to depress than normal or slower to return, it may be a precursor to a stuck pedal. These vehicles should be parked and a dealer immediately notified. Should a pedal become stuck in a partially depressed condition while driving, owners should put their car in neutral, bring it to a stop and call their dealer.”

Will the accelerator pedal fix make my car safe to drive?
From Toyota: "We've tested our solution rigorously, and we are confident that it works."
