Hyannis, MA — Balise Ford of Cape Cod recently partnered with Big Nick’s Ride for the Fallen to host a food drive for the Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center’s Summer of Community initiative. Throughout July, community members donated 2,225 pounds of non-perishable food, all of which will go to local veterans in need. The food drive culminated on July 18 with a block party at Balise Ford of Cape Cod featuring food, drinks, music, and prizes, along with appearances by the Barnstable Police Department’s K-9 Unit and Junior ROTC and a live broadcast from Pixy 103. Founded in 1983, the Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center works to provide veterans and military families in the Cape Cod area with essential services. Whether that help comes in the form of mental health care, housing, food security, or transportation, the organization coordinates life-changing care for their neighbors who have sacrificed so much. Balise Auto Group is proud to support an organization that makes such a meaningful impact in the lives of local veterans and thanks Big Nick’s Ride for the Fallen, along with everyone who donated to the Summer of Community initiative.
